What it brought
Custom metadata types are now generally available, so configuration can be packaged and deployed like code. Platform Encryption is GA as well, encrypting standard and custom fields at rest, and the Lightning App Builder goes GA as a point-and-click way to build custom app pages for Salesforce1. Service picks up SOS in-app video chat and screen sharing, with Omni-Channel routing in beta. Developers can write custom Lightning Connect adapters with the Apex Connector Framework. Connect for Outlook will retire in Winter '16, and the Mobile Dashboards for iPad app has been dropped.
