What it brought

With Multiforce in Summer '05, one org could hold more than one app: an app menu at the top right switched between Salesforce, Supportforce and custom apps assembled from standard and custom tabs, with visibility set per profile. Professional Edition could build custom tabs, objects and s-controls for the first time. Support teams got Email-to-Case, which routes verified addresses into new cases through an agent installed behind the firewall, and a point-and-click style editor for the Self-Service portal. On security, Salesforce added Single Sign-On and a Require secure connections option. The Sforce Data Loader shipped as a pilot for Enterprise and Developer Editions.
