What it brought

Connected Apps became generally available in Spring '13, giving admins explicit control over which external applications may authenticate through OAuth 2.0 and what security policies apply to them. The Tooling API shipped at version 27.0 with SOAP and REST interfaces for building custom Force.com development tools, and platform work makes up 55 of the 136 notes. Salesforce Touch went beyond the Sales app to all standard and custom apps, with dashboards, cases and leads, and Visualforce tabs in the mobile browser app. Admins got beta state and country picklists based on ISO-3166 values. Salesforce also stopped selling the older Salesforce Platform user licenses to new customers.
