What it brought

Salesforce for Google Apps was the new arrival in Spring '08, with Google docs attached to records, a Google Docs tab, and Gmail buttons and links. Much of the rest moved existing work to general availability: Salesforce Content and Salesforce Ideas left limited release, the Partner Portal became generally available in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions, and Apex became generally available in Enterprise Edition, its inbound email services GA alongside. The Metadata API shipped, so administrators could treat setup configuration as XML files and migrate it between organizations, and the Force.com IDE replaced the Apex Toolkit for Eclipse as a developer preview. Apex scripts using the commit, rollback or package keywords had to be rewritten, because those keywords are gone.
